The building at 25 Frederick St has 10 hotel rooms all configured differently, with full-height doors, high ceilings, soft colours, tiled bathrooms and a Pacifica feel. The same ambience is included in the 3 apartment style rooms that are offered at 23 Frederick St. These rooms included kitchens and en suite with the largest being 50sqm which includes a living and dining area.

The concept was to provide a good standard of accommodation for the discerning traveller, priced at the right level with a cosy, ground floor breakfast room.

Gourmet Stay was especially designed to provide excellent accommodation for the discerning budget conscious traveller. With its modern design and soft tones, Gourmet stay is comfortable, personal and friendly. It offers a variety of rooms in order to provide the guest an opportunity to choose the most appropriate room for their stay. Gourmet Stay was inspired by the pensione style of accommodation in continental Europe and is modelled on the accommodation in European towns, with their communal courtyards, low-scale buildings and pleasant, relaxed feel.

Location

Gourmet Stay is located in Frederick Street, a quiet side street in the centre of Wellington. There is no need for a car here! It is only a 5 minute walk to the famous Cuba Street and Courtenay Place. The hotel is also in close proximity to Massey and Victoria University, Te Papa, the new War Memorial Museum, and 1.5km from the Hospital.

It is strategically located in the Wellington central business district and has been developed with talent, style and flair Gourmet Stay is popular with corporate and university guests, and enjoyed by many tourists. The location is without a doubt one of its best selling points as it is close to all the action but still nestled in a quiet street, which is something that many of our guests look for.

Choices

We have many different rooms type to choose from at Gourmet Stay. On the top floor we have our spa room, with a king-size bed, en suite, large deck and private outdoor spa pool, we also have rooms with private bathrooms which are dedicated to the room but located adjacent to it. We have varying sizes of Family rooms with a king and single and large ensuite, also a large family room which sleeps 5 with an ensuite. Gourmet Stay has three rooms clustered around a large shared bathroom with a bath and separate shower, which works well with groups or individuals.  Our ground floor is also wheelchair accessible.

We have three apartment style rooms as well. One has a large apartment with a living space and kitchen and bathroom which sleeps three or more. We also have two smaller apartment rooms both include kitchens and en suite bathrooms. The accommodation caters for all budgets and we have a relaxed management style with a later than normal checkout time, complimentary coffee, tea, and fresh scones, and free wi-fi.
